this is the case then I'm satisfied. Can an admin/mod please
confirm?
Confirmed.
Chat Lounge is a "free zone", if you will, regarding our spamming
regulations. In order for this to be fair posts made at that section won't give
any credits. Also posts in the Chat Lounge are not penalized, if you remember
correctly, posts that don't comply with our communities requirements instead of
giving credits take them away.
Very well, then if people wish to waste their time then so be it.
Yuki Kajiura and Yoko Kanno are obvious and are the most prominent composers,
but here are a few gems that will perhaps catch your liking.
Choro Club feat. Senoo - Inspired by Brazilian styles, they composed for ARIA
the ANIMATION, as well as its sequel, ARIA the NATURAL. Peaceful, relaxing and
chilled acoustic strings, mixed with crisp piano pieces and heart-melting vocals
by Eri Kawai.
Kunihiko Ryo - He composed the soundtrack for Victorian Romance Emma. Absolutely
beautiful compositions of piano, harpsichord, and strings, which match well to
the old Victorian English setting. A perfect companion to a read of Emma manga,
or just a lovely Sunday afternoon.
I am willing to back up that many scans from AnimePaper aren't members' own
scans. For example, many scans of soundtracks are from releases by music groups
and Winny/Share grabs. Many scans are also taken from picture boards such as
4chan, as well; recent scans that I have seen are all not personal scans.
Perhaps it is wiser to simply say "not my scan", and leave it
ambiguous.
It seems that there are quite a few threads in the Chat Lounge that serves no
particular purpose except for spamming, getting post-count, and hence credits.
Here are three in the main page:
I have no idea what policy MT operates, but I hate to see any forum get spammed
up by threads such as these, especially if people gain credits this way. If
people don't, then it's more acceptable, as there's no incentive to reply to
silly threads. I understand that forcing the raise of quality of posts will
certainly alienate some, if not a majority, of users; so perhaps preventing
credit gain in such forums is the best approach.
I think I've spent too long at Gamingforce and SomethingAwful...

would perfere chinese language for mangas..novels and illutration books...since
japanese is related to chinese it's kind of easy for me to learn even without
going for japanese class..
This is a common misconception; while Japanese kanji is essentially Chinese
characters, it has a different grammatical structure. Also, remember kanji
itself is not Japanese, there are also katakana and hiragana, and pronunciation
differs between the two languages.
Shorter the better, since they tend to get crap when it gets stretched for too
long. Stick with the story, bin the fillers, and do it in as few episodes as
possible.
Maybe for the first episode, but I generally tend to skip it since they tend to
contain potential spoilers, or at least they make me speculate too much.
Quote by LigerZSchniderI have had
two nVidia 6800gs and one ATI 9800xt about two months ago. Reason was because
every time I swithced into SLI mode ( to play BF2 ) I had to loose one of my
monitors. So I bought the ATI card for the other monitor. I am not going to say
the image quality was bad, but I preferred the quality of one nVidia card in
videos compared to ATI.
Of course the nVidia card will perform better, since the ATI 9xxx series is one
generation below the nVidia 6 series, and it's configured in SLI. You speak of
"better image quality", and what do you define that as? Better colour
reproduction? Either quote sources to backup your claims, or conduct tests
yourself to compare the two cards. Simply looking at it is not scientific and is
liable to bias and placebo.
Quote by EphixAnother point between the 2
is that Nvidia's drivers will work for a linux based system while ATIs will not.
The ATI catalyst drivers are very OS dependent, specifically built for windows,
the Nvidia drivers set up easily on linux systems. I don't know about
cross-platform however, I doubt either would work without you having to write
your own drivers to fit the platform(goodluck).
Indeed, ATI's native Catalyst drivers are not available to Linux. I've had
issues with my ATI card with Linux, mainly due to the lack of drivers, but a
little searching found a set of part open source, part closed source drivers
called fglrx. However, due to the nature of open source drivers, the latest
cards are not always immediately supported. In comparison, nVidia cards are more
supported as nVidia provide official drivers; also, the drivers for the latest
card - the 8800 - are already released.
Quote by GothicMikemy experience with
ati blows, it lacks the capacity to power game with what I mean by that is it
can't handle the long runs of your average pc gamer 12 - 16 hours of gaming with
out overheating within so many months also with out the power gaming test most
of the ati's I test end up overheating/giving out within a year or less, when it
comes to Nvidia I have had only 1 card overheat and that was an accident on my
behalf and I've tested about 23 ati cards and about 17 Nvidia with lost one
nvidia and several of the ATI's(about 8 I think). But I think Nvidia has ATI
beat and don't get me wrong it is a very close battle but for what I do for a
living I find Nvidia better in many ways then 1.
How exactly are you testing these cards? Do you actually have about 12 computers
that you leave on while applying stress with ATI cards in, and another 12 with
nVidia cards in? Are the testing environment the same, so that each card has the
same cooler? I could test 20 nVidia Geforce 4 series with aftermarket coolers,
and test 20 ATI X19xx series with stock coolers; obviously the Geforce 4s will
last longer in terms of time. The cooler for each card is dependent on the
manufacturer as well, for example, the Sapphire X1950 Toxic XTX has its own
independent water cooling, while a standard Sapphire X1950 will have a heatsink
blower fan.
I am highly doubtful of your seemingly dubious statistics coming from a home
user, but you may work for a computer publication for all I know. The style in
which you post does not seem to suggest that. Quantify your statistics, and
perhaps we will accept them.
I tip my hat to all those who responded in a non-fanboyism fashion.

thats the last to release their model of video card....that ends up being the
best....in terms of raw fps....
Absolutely. Currently the 8800 series is the fastest card you can buy, with
unified architecture and support for DX10 and SM4. You can't really compare
until ATI releases their own flagship card, and see what manufacturers do with
the chipset. It doesn't really matter whether it's ATI or nVidia, all I care for
is the performance for the price at the time of purchase.
KitClairvoyance, you may wish to check out the updated ATI Crossfire, dubbed
"Crossfire Native". They've finally dropped their dongle approach, and
adapted a SLI-esque internal bridge between the two cards. One notable
difference is that it requires two bridges, rather than the SLI's single bridge.
Whether they did this to differentiate between the two products, I don't know,
but it doesn't seem to serve any significant purpose.
Both wireless and Bluetooth use radio frequency, but wireless has a greater
range and a faster data transfer rate (due to higher transmit power). Typically,
Bluetooth has a maximum range of 10 metres, which is acceptable for short range
communication between devices such as mobile phones, PDAs, and perhaps
peripherals, but is not ideal for a larger local area network.
There's really no need to send it through e-mail anymore, there are plenty of
file upload services available. Yousendit is the original and still good, and
you've got Rapidshare (more liek Rapidsh1t amirite) and Megaupload. Once you've
uploaded the file, send the link to whoever that wants the file.
If you insist on sending it through e-mail, Gmail is a good provider; if you
require an account simply ask since everyone has about 100 invites.
I wouldn't be so sure in Gundam SEED destiny. Seems that the EAF has fallen back
to the usage of Mobile Armor, and with the invention of the anti-beam shield.
The tables seems to have turned.
Especially what has happened in the last few episodes of Destiny.
Very well, then if people wish to waste their time then so be it.

I would recommend ImgBurn for the burning of disc images, as it was based on DVD Decryptor's excellent burning engine.
Edit: Okay I JUST realised this thread was dug out from 70 weeks ago. joemighty16, never go back to a thread more than a few months old. ;/
